Phillies Destroy Mets

A day after being nearly shutout, Doc Halladay and the crew took the Mets down.  In their 10-0 win Doc pitched his second shutout of the season.  Halladay is the leader in complete games over the last five seasons.  You know what is just as impressive is the Phillies were able to put up 6 runs against what was the hottest pitcher in the league.  Mike Pelfrey had a 0.69 ERA coming into Saturday.  Now it's at 2.40.

The game looked like a pitchers duel going into the 4th inning.  Both Pelfrey and Halladay were dominating the opposition.  Then game Jayson Werth and the Phillies.  He knocked in a few runs in todays game, including a rbi single at the beginning of the bottom of the 4th.  Juan Castro who is back from injury hit in both Ryan Howard and Jayson Werth on a shot to left field.  After Castro's at bat catcher Carlos Ruiz hit a single to center, however Angel Pagan threw Castro out at the plate.  Surprisingly after that pitcher Roy Halladay generated some offense with a single.  Shane Victorino then hit his 4th home run of the season.  After retiring Polanco to end the 4th Mike Pelfrey.  That's what the Mets get for acting like he's the greatest.
Raul Ibanez was the next Phillies hitter to generate offense.  He hit a 2 run triple which scored Chase Utley, who reached on a double, and Jayson Werth who walked.  After Raul's big hit the Phillies weren't done "making hay".  Jayson Werth knocked in his second run of the game and Carlos Ruiz then knocked him in 2 bats later.

Congratulations to Roy Halladay on his second complete game shutout of the season.
