Jimmy Rollins back to the DL

Jimmy Rollins is back on the DL with a right calf strain.  He said he was 100% but that proved not to be the case.  Rollins has played in just 12 games this entire season.

Jimmy Rollins will be back at a familiar place, the DL.  He mildly strained his right calf in the teams 5-1 win versus the Red Sox on Friday.  GM Ruben Amaro has stated that it is a grade 1 strain, meaning he won't be on the DL for long, and does not have a big injury.  Coach Charlie Manuel and the front office all agreed it would be better for him to sit it out a few more weeks then to get risk getting a greater injury.  The Phillies hope this strain doesn't linger around for the entire season.  This was supposed to be the year J-Roll was back, however it seems more like a 2009 start to me.

Wilson Valdez, who cleared waivers on Thursday, will take Rollins's spot once again.  Valdez played very well and got to start a few games due to the injuries to Juan Castro.  The Phillies were very happy they could keep him as they thought many teams would try to claim him.  If Valdez left the team either Brian Bocock or Freddy Galvis would've gotten the call.  It looks as if Juan Castro will take over at SS and Victorino will stay in that #1 hole, where he has hit .320 this season coming into tonights ball game.
