Phillies Trounce Braves

A day after Doc shut them out the bats came alive.  The Phils exploded for 8 runs.  Jamie Moyer claimed his second win making him 2-1 and Derek Lowe received his first loss making him 3-1.  While Moyer was in the Braves scored two runs, however neither were earned. Then in the 7th Chad Durbin let up 1 run.  And to close off the game Danys Baez and David Herndon pitched scoreless innings.

-- In the first inning Ryan Howard hit a rbi single to center to score Greg Dobbs and it moved Chase Utley along to third.  Greg Dobbs who started at 3B in place of Placido Polanco who injured his elbow after being hit yesterday.  Dobbs batted at the 2 hole which he normally doesn't.  I guess Manuel wanted everyone else to stay in there spots.  Following Howard's single Jayson Werth poped to center allowing Utley to tag up.
-- In the 3rd inning the Phillies put up a 3 spot.  Raul Ibanez knocked in two on a fielders choice.  Martin Prado made a error which allowed both Greg Dobbs and Chase Utley to cross the plate.  Jayson Werth also advanced to third.  Then Juan Castro struck a single which hit in Jayson Werth.
-- After the Braves put up 2 on back to back errors by the normally dependable Chase Utley Shane Victorino helped the Phillies add on a run.  He hit a towering fly ball to left that Juan Castro to tag up.

-- In the top of the 7th the Phillies offense put up another 2.  Ross Gload hit a single to center that let Raul Ibanez (who walked).  Then Shane Victorino struck again.  Like Gload he hit a rbi single to center.

-- In the 7th Chad Durbin came in and allowed Brian McCann to sac fly McClouth in.  This run didn't really effect tonight's outcome of the game.  Then as I said before Danys Baez and David Herndon pitched scoreless innings.

In other Phillies news...
